Jabatan Kejuruteraan Awam (JKA) merupakan satu daripada lapan buah jabatan yang terdapat di Politeknik Kuching Sarawak (PKS). Terdapat tiga buah program yang ditawarkan iaitu Program Diploma Kejuruteraan Awam, Diploma Kejuruteraan Perkhidmatan Bangunan dan Diploma Geomatik.
Menghasilkan graduan Pendidikan dan Latihan Teknikal dan Vokasional (TVET) yang berkualiti dan diiktiraf.
DIPLOMA KEJURUTERAAN AWAM

Synopsis |
This programme is designed to equip students with sound knowledge, skills, attitude and understanding of the environment, construction industries, construction designs and infrastructural development of civil engineering. The knowledge and skills acquired will be useful for success in future or current employment. |
Program Aims |
This programme believes that all individuals have potential to be proactive and responsible senior technicians to support national agenda in transforming construction industry to be highly productive, environmentally sustainable with globally competitive players while focused on safety and quality standards. |
PEO |
The Diploma in Civil Engineering programme shall produce semi-professionals who are: PEO1 : working in the field of civil engineering PEO2 :lead or a team member to support their role in industries PEO3 :engaged in activities to enhance knowledge or starting/embark their own enterprise PEO4 :fulfill professional and communities responsibilities, conforming to ethical and environmental values |
Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO) |

Synopsis |
This programme is designed to equip students with knowledge in Building Services Engineering. It provides students with skills required for success in current or future employment. The content of the course has been chosen to prepare the students for a wide scope of career choices in related fields. All students study the courses which are related and specialized in Building Services Engineering field. To graduate, the students are required to accumulate 93 credit hours. It is a combination of general subjects and specialized Building Services Engineering courses. |

Synopsis |
The Diploma in Geomatic provides students with knowledge and generates skill in the field of land survey especially on measurement and positioning technique, geospatial data capture, data processing,data analysis and map presentation. Among the courses offered in this programme is Cadastral Surveying, Survey Computation, Engineering Surveying Hydrographic Surveying, Utility Mapping, Geodesy, Astronomy, Survey Adjustment, CADD, Geographical Information System (GIS), Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Cartography, Land Law & Regulations, Land Management and Development, Town and Regional Planning and Visual Basic Programming. In addition to the technical courses, students are also taught Communicative English, Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Pengajian Malaysia, Sains Teknologi dan Kejuruteraan Islam, Nilai Masyarakat Malaysia, Komunikasi dan Penyiaran Islam, Co-Curriculum, Occupational Safety and Health and Entrepreneurship to enhance their competencies in soft skills. The graduates from this programme will have the potentials to work in both private and government sector locally and abroad. In addition, they also have the opportunities to further their studies in other higher learning institutions locally and abroad. |
