The International Conference on Advanced Sustainable Technology (ASTECH) 2024 marks a collaborative initiative between Malaysia's Kuching Sarawak Polytechnic (PKS) and Banding State Polytechnic (POLBAN) Indonesia, and is an important event as the first international conference organized by POLBAN and jointly organized by PKS. Took place on 5 to 6 August 2024 at The Waterfront Hotel Kuching Sarawak Malaysia. The theme of the conference is Fostering Research and Innovation for Sustainable TVET Development : Pathway to Resilient Future.The ASTECH 2024 conference has gathered 170 research paper presentations from seven countries Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, India, Australia, Nigeria and Portugal which focus on advancing TVET education and sustainability.

Introduction
The Advanced Sustainable Technology International Conference (ASTECH) 2024 marks the collaborative initiation between Politeknik Kuching Sarawak (PKS) Malaysia and Politeknik Negeri Banding (POLBAN) Indonesia, and is a significant milestone as the first international conference organized by POLBAN and co-organized by PKS. Set to take place from August 5th to 6th in Kuching Sarawak Malaysia, this distinguished assembly aspires to bring together global academics, scholars, researchers, and industry experts, fostering a dynamic research and innovation ecosystem. Aligned with Industry Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) and sustainability principles, ASTECH 2024 encourages exploration of state-of-art technologies in engineering, technology, sciences, TVET, and education.
As the primary sponsor for ASTECH 2024, the Ministry of Education, Innovation & Talent Development Sarawak, (MEITD) highlights its commitment to fostering education, innovation and talent development, essential for educational excellence, future-proof workforce and sustainable growth in the region. By supporting initiatives such as WorldSkills Malaysia Sarawak, MEITD advocates for vocational, technological, and service-oriented education and talent development. WorldSkills Malaysia, an international organization, hosts biennial "Skills Olympics" competitions, where young professionals worldwide demonstrate their expertise in various skills. This initiative underscores the importance of skilled professionals in economic development and personal success, aligning with Sarawak's mission to empower future generations through skills-based education and careers. Through these efforts, MEITD aims to create a vibrant research and innovation ecosystem, enhancing Sarawak's competitiveness globally and ensuring long-term economic prosperity.
The ASTECH 2024 Conference will host 170 research paper presentations from participants across seven countries, focusing on advancing TVET education and sustainability. The event provides a platform for educators, researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to share insights and innovations. It includes a townhall session, an exhibition, and a forum by distinguished speakers in TVET education and sustainability, contributing to Sarawak's efforts toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Nearly 600 students and educators from various institutions will attend. Sponsors include Biomedix Solution Sdn Bhd and Sarawak Skills, with support from several esteemed collaborators like BIMB-EAGA, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), SIDMA College Sarawak, Association of Professional Technicians and Technologists (APTT), Technological Association Malaysia (TAM) Sarawak Branch, and Iloilo Philippine University. The conference aims to address critical issues, share best practices, and empower youth with skills and knowledge for a sustainable future.

Please be advised that all accepted papers will be published in the ASTECH eProceeding . Selected papers will be recommended for scopus publication and the cost will be paid by authors.
*Publication is subject to further evaluation by the editor and the publication cost will be fully fund by authors.
- All authors should attend all the plenary sessions and their paper presentation track to eligible for a conference certificate (hybrid mode).
- The paper which is presented at the conference will ONLY be suggested for publication.
- An author can only submit a maximum of 2 papers (one as the principal author & the other as co-author).
- The conference registration fee will not be refunded, under any circumstances.
- No author name change can be changed after the paper submission.
- Once the paper has been sent for publication to the concerned journals/proceedings, the paper cannot be withdrawn.
- A paper can have maximum of 5 authors.
Publication Ethics
This Conference follows the guidelines set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in all aspects of publication ethics, in particular, protocols of research and publication misconduct.
